Who is Higeia?

Higeia is an online healthcare service offering medical weight loss care to New Zealanders. Your care is assessed, prescribed and overseen by New Zealand–registered practitioners, wherever you are in the country.

You book a free 10-minute consultation with a New Zealand–registered practitioner and complete a short questionnaire beforehand. If treatment is right for you, your practitioner prescribes a personalised plan that appears in your portal, and your treatment is delivered to your door with ongoing support behind it.

The consultation is free, with no obligation. If your practitioner prescribes a plan, the program starts at $395 per month, covering your treatment and delivery, ongoing practitioner oversight, follow-up consultations, prescription management, nutrition support and access to your care team. There are no consultation fees, dispensing fees or delivery charges.

What treatments are available with Higeia?

Higeia prescribes Medsafe-approved prescription medicines for weight management, including Wegovy (semaglutide). Which one suits you is decided by your practitioner during your consultation.

These are prescription medicines with benefits and risks, and they’re not right for everyone. Common side effects include nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation. Ask your Higeia practitioner whether treatment is right for you.
